Some places impress us with landmarks; others stay with us through small everyday scenes. Living by the Dalmatian coast has made me notice these moments more.
Biokovo in the background
The mountains shape daily views in Makarska. Their appearance shifts with the clouds and light, making even familiar scenes feel new.
The meeting of sea and mountain gives the landscape a distinctive rhythm.
Streets, flowers and facades
I like photographing textures: stone walls, windows, flowers and little bits of color on a balcony. They tell a story about where we are.
The camera encourages me to look more slowly, without needing every moment to be postcard-perfect.
Keeping a record
So many photos disappear into a phone gallery. This Journal gives them context and a place to return to.
Perhaps that's part of building a new home: slowly recognizing the familiar in a different place.
Not every story requires a big trip. Some begin by opening a window.
